Options - Tax Returns

Displays suggestions for inserting text in the appropriate cells according to the data that has already been entered. By default, Corporate Taxprep saves 25 entries per form in memory. This number can be modified.

Displays a message each time you enter data that is calculated in a cell with a possible override.

Displays a red triangle in the upper right-hand corner of cells that are linked to a diagnostic.

Identifies cells in which data was entered last year and in which no value has been entered or rolled forward in the current year.

Displays a message that suggests recalculating data in a client file opened with a version of Corporate Taxprep that is different from the version used to create or open this file in read-only mode. The amounts may vary as a result of the recalculation. Select this check box if you want data in the client file to be recalculated without confirmation.

Recalculates data in a client file without a message when it is opened with a version of the preparer profile that is different from the version used to create the client file. The amounts may vary as a result of the recalculation. Clear the check box if you want a message to display and to have the possibility of keeping the version of the preparer profile that was used to create the client file.

Locks the data when the return status is "Completed." When a client file contains more than one return, all returns must be completed in order for data to be locked.

Scans the links to the other corporations from the related or associated corporate group, when opening a linked client file. The values in the cells of linked corporations that are different from those saved in the linked client files are also updated.

Determines the page orientation (portrait or landscape) and the font size used to print diagnostics.

Allows you to open the forms as they were displayed the last time the client file was saved, regardless of who saved it.

Note that Corporate Taxprep retains a list of the opened forms for a given return, as well as the cursor’s position, whether this option is selected or not.

Displays the properties before the client file is saved. Once the properties are displayed, you can modify the statuses, enter a note or lock the data.

Saves a backup copy of the client file at the specified interval. If a work session ends abnormally, Corporate Taxprep will automatically open this copy in the next session.
